One Night Part 7

---Raven's POV---

"Well good morning sleeping beauty!" Cyborg's cheerful voice awoke her with a startle. "You had us worried there." He smiled as he made his was to her bed.

She looked to the chair next to her, Beast Boy was not there. Her heart sank, "What happened to Beast Boy?" She asked.

"Oh B? I think Robin forced him to go get some food. He has been locked up in this infirmary for almost a week." He smiled at her. He added as if reading mind, "He will be back don't worry."

She nodded. "How do you feel today?" Cyborg asked. He truly sounded concern. Cyborg has always been a big brother towards her, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

"I feel okay, stronger than last night. My head ache is gone."

"Good to hear." He walked to the drawer next to her. "I am assuming BB told you everything?"

"Ya, I guess. Just told me I was shot. That the chemicals messed up my DNA some how?"

"That's it in a nut shell." He nodded. "To test if it is all out of your system I am going to need some blood."

Her face went white. Needles were not her strong suit. She was able to heal herself so there was no need for needles. The thought of them made her feel sick.

"I know you don't like them," Cyborg said "we had to hold you down that night to get you sedative. It almost killed B."

Ravens heart sank even more. She looked at her wrists and noticed some fading bruises. She could imagine Robin or Cyborg holding her down, but Beast Boy? That must of been hard on him.

"Yeah but luckily for you guys I didn't." Raven turned and saw Beast Boy walking in with a tray of food. "What would you guys do with out me." He said playfully. He walked over to her and sat it down on the counter next to her. "I got you some food, figured you would be hungry and all."

She smiled at him as he sat in the chair next to his bed. He looked more rested than last night, though not fully recovered. "Thanks." She muttered

"First I need a sample Rae." It was cyborg who spoke. "Are you ready?"

She tensed up automatically. She held out her arm reluctantly. Then she felt Beast Boy hold her other hand. She looked over to him and he smiled his toothy grin.

"1...2..." Without saying three Cyborg inserted the needle in to her vein and pulled out a vile of her blood. She winced and squeezed Beast Boys hand. Then as soon as the pain hit her, it was gone. "See not that hard!" Cyborg took the vile and interested it in to his computer. A few moments pasted as Raven watched the metal man at work.

Raven then noticed that she was still holding Beast Boys hand and quickly let go. "Sorry." She muttered.

"Uh ya me too." He replied there was an awkward silence as Cyborg was typing away on his computer. "Oh! Here is your food." Beast Boy brought the tray and sat it on to Raven's lap. "I made you tea, I hope it is as good as you make it." He rubbed the back of his head.

"Thank you." She replied, she picked up the tea and sipped it. She sighed. It was good, hell it was better than she made. She wasn't sure how she felt about this...

"Well good news folks!" Cyborg turned and said. "It looks like your DNA is back to normal. The serum worked." Cyborg sounded proud of himself. And why shouldn't he be?

"Thank you Cyborg." Raven said. She was extremely grateful for him. He had saved her life.

"Any time Rae. You should be back to your normal self in the next few days. I would take it easy till then" He smiled back at her. "I will go tell the others, be ready for Stars fury when she gets in." He laughed as he walked out of the room

---Beast Boy's POV---

A few days have past and Raven was able to get out of the infirmary. Although still a little weak and recovering, she was able to sleep in her own room, and even walk around the tower.

"Glad to see you walking around Raven." Robin said one morning as they were sitting at the breakfast table.

Beast Boy was staring at Raven. This was not uncommon, in fact in the past few days he has caught himself staring without even noticing what he was doing. He had helped her as much as he could in since the incident, he was always by her side. Although he was sure that the others just chalked his actions up to guilt, he knew that it was more than that.

"I feel great. Much better." She replied She smiled at her friend and continued to drink her tea. She was smiling a lot more in the past week, probably just from being so grateful to be alive. He was not complaining, he loved her smile.

"Glorious friend Raven! That is the best news!" Starfire had not left Ravens side sense she was given the okay to leave her bed. This made Beast Boy jealous, but he knew better than to act on it. Star was just trying to help. "Perhaps we should go to the park for the grilling out to celebrate."

"Star, I don't think Raven is up to-" Cyborg began looking up from his breakfast.

"Sure, I need to get out. I'd like to maybe read outside, feel the fresh air." Ravens response surprised everyone.

"Are you sure Raven?" Robin asked.

"Yeah, I am done being cooped up here." She responded.

"Okay.." Robin responded, not sure how to proceed, "A cook out it is. Star and I will run to the store if Cy wants to get the grill together."

Starfire giggled. "Let us go!" And with that Star grabbed Robins hand and they were off.

"I'll go pick out a good book." Raven said once Robin and Star had left. She stood up and carried her cup to the sink.

"Need help?" Beast Boy asked hopefully.

Raven smiled. "No I think I can handle this myself thanks." With that she walked out of the room. Beast Boy watched her walk away. Staring at the door once it closed. He wanted so much to follow, but knew better. It took all of his will power to stay.  

"Okay, what's going on?" Beast Boy jumped at Cyborgs question.

"Huh? Didn't you hear? We are having a Barbeque." He responded with a smile.

"Not that, what is going on with you and Raven?" Cyborg raised his eye brow.

"I don't know what you mean dude."

"Really? Besides the fact that she has not thrown you out a window in weeks, and that you have been following her around, something has changed. Everyone sees it."

'Everyone?' he thought 'am I that transparent?' "I have no idea what you're talking about" He lied.

"Spill B."

He sighed. Cyborg was his best friend. He knew when something was off with him. Cyborg knew when something was off with everyone, had a second sense with this stuff.

"About two weeks ago I kissed Raven." He admitted. Cyborg raised an eyebrow, he looked surprised.

"Really?" The tone of sarcasm in his voice annoyed Beast Boy. "Well at least it was just one kiss. She has apparently already forgiven you, so that's good." Cyborg stood to take his plate to the sink.

"That's not exactly it." He rubbed the back of his head. "The night before the bank, we almost hooked up."  Cyborg dropped his plate.

"You didn't?"

"Yeah.. I did." He winced at what was coming. He knew that Cyborg had a special bond with Raven, he would kill anyone who hurt his 'little sister', even it was his own best friend.

"Why would you do that B? Why would you let something like this happen?" He sounded angry to Beast Boy. He had to defend himself.

"In my defense she kissed me back. It takes two to tango Cy. Calm down."

"You sleep with every girl that will let you. Raven is is different, she is fragile. You can't just play with her emotions. You can't just do something like that Beast Boy!" Cyborg started to walk towards Beast Boy. Beast Boy instantly reacted and got up from his seat and took a few steps back. Cyborg stopped a foot away. Beast Boy was ready to react to whatever was coming.

"I know. That's why I stopped it. That's why we didn't sleep together." Beast Boy's animal senses felt the risk of danger slowly leave.

"Do you love her?" Cyborg asked.

"What?"

"Do you love her?" Cyborg repeated the question looking him square in the face when he asked.

Beast Boy was taken aback by the question. He did not fully understand his feelings towards Raven. He was confused, he knew he cared deeply about her. He wanted to be with her all the time, to protect her, to take care of her. But love? Did he love her?

"Answer me green bean." Cyborg said with sternness in his voice. Beast boy jumped and was snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Yes." Beast Boy took a deep breath. He felt like the weight of the world was lifted from his chest, like all of his worries and fears left his body. He had said it out loud, he admitted it not only to herself, but to someone else.

"Yes, I do love her"
