Fight or Flight XX

The plane landed smoothly atop Titans East. Raven could feel her heart race as the doors to her pod opened. Reluctantly she stepped out and looked around, luckily no one was on the roof. If she would have to guess, she would say this was because of the storm that was forming in Steal City. She frowned as she now noticed the loud music that was coming from inside the tower.

"Alright, are you ready Raven?" Robin said smoothly as he wrapped an arm around Starfires waist.

"As ready as I'll ever be." She responded sarcastically. This made Robin roll his eyes and smile as he turned away from her, he then guided his girlfriend through the door to the tower. Raven let out a large sigh as she walked towards the door, she stopped a few feet from the entrance unable to go any futher.

"Shall we enter the party my lady?" Raven looked over to her right and noticed Beast Boy smiling with his arm out as if to escort her, HE wiggled his eyebrows playfully. Knowing that he stayed with her while the others left made her feel slightly better about her ordeal, but only slightly.

She smiled lightly to him as she looped her arm through his, "Yes we shall."

She could see the sparkle in his eyes as she spoke, then she felt the felling that she had felt after their battle with Red X. If it was admitting from anyone else she would swear that the feeling was love, her heart sank slightly knowing that she was misreading him again.

They walked through the door together and Beast Boy moved his hand to her lower back in order to fit thorough the door. For whatever reason this action sent a pleasant shiver up her spine. As they walked through the hallway they saw a few Titans, they nodded or gave the casual "Hey Raven, nice to see you." and "Welcome back." The music proceeded to get louder and louder as they made it to the common room, Raven took in a large breath and with a nod from her date she opened the door.

Titans East's common room was completely transformed. There there were no furniture except for the various couches scattered against the walls. The kitchen was transformed into a bar, and there was a DJ stand on the far side of the room. Raven looked down to the ground and noticed a large dance floor in front of her. She had to admit, Cyborg had out done himself.

"RAVEN, BB!" Raven looked over to the kitchen and she noticed Cyborg on the other side waving them over. From what she could see, Cyborg had on a pair of loose fitting jeans, a black wife beater with a light blue plaid over shirt that was not buttoned. Beast Boy took her hand and began to walk them over there.

"Hey Cy, long time no see." Beast Boy said cheerily as they approached the counter top.

"Hey guys, how do you like the place?" Cyborg said as he poured Kid Flash a drink. Raven took note that Kid was dressed in black slacks and a red button down shirt.

"It looks great Cyborg." Raven said as Best Boys hand left hers and she sat at the bar stool across from her friend.  

"Wow you look hot Raven." Raven jumped as Kid Flash spoke, he had gotten uncomfortably close to her chair. He was apparently allowing his eyes to wonder as he took her outfit in. "I mean you were always hot, but with you in that skirt...phew." He then proceeded to wipe his forehead for effect.

Raven raised an eyebrow at the Titan unsure how to respond "Uhh" She then heard a low growl as Beast Boy stepped in front of him in order to block his view of her.

"Don't you have your own date to harass Wally?" Beast Boy said harshly.

"Whoa there big boy. My bad I didn't know she was taken." Kid Flash put up his hands as if to defend himself from the changeling, he then took the two drinks that Cyborg handed him and said "I better get this drink to Jinx, she is getting a little too sober. Nice to see you Raven."

With that Kid Flash disappeared into the dance floor. Cyborg began to laugh as the attention was brought back to him "Damn B, harsh much?"

"Didn't you see the way he was looking at her? Disrespectful." He spat in response.

"Hey she does look good tonight. You can't blame him."

Beast Boy's face was hot, he wouldn't let anyone talk to his date like that. She deserved respect,  he turned to respond to Cyborgs statement but he was cut off by a new female voice.

"You know he is right girl, you do look hot." He turned around and saw that Bumble Bee had made her way to the group. She was dressed in leather pants, and a yellow tank top and a black leather jacket to finish it off. She smiled at Raven and pulled her into a friendly hug.

"Thanks Bee. It's good to see you." Raven replied as she was released and sat back in her chair. Bee proceeded to lean over and whisper something in his dates hear. Normally his sensitive ears would be able to pick up what she said, but because of the blaring music he was not able to make out her words. Whatever was spoken must have been embarrassing because Raven's face turned beat red once she pulled away.

He was about to ask what she said when Aqualad made his way to the group. Now Beast Boy did not have anything against the fish guy, however the fact that Raven found him attractive put him on edge. "Hey Raven, its so good to see you again." he said smoothly.

"What are you doing here, I thought I told you-" Cyborg started but was cut off by Bumble Bee.

"I told him to come over and give you a break. You have been working too hard on this party, you need to have some fun." She sounded so sincere in her words that Beast Boy was taken aback slightly.

"Bee I-"

"It's not a problem man, go dance, enjoy yourself." Aqualad replied as he patted the metal man on the back. "I've got this." Cyborg let out a large sigh and nodded at his team mate. He then proceeded to leave the make shift bar and grab Bumble Bees hand as he made his way to the dace floor.

"Good, he needs loosen up." Raven said as she turned back to the now bartender, she smiled politely. Beast Boy tried to hold back the protective growl that was foaming in his throat, but it only ended up making him cough.

"It really is good to see you Raven. How was your travels?" Aqualad asked leaned up against the ledge casually. He had on black slacks with a tight white button down shirt that had the top three buttons open. He must have done this to make sure that his chest was visible. This made the changeling scoff.

"It's good to see you too. My travels were great they-"

"Hey Rae I think we should make your rounds, lets go."  Beast Boy spoke fast as he grabbed his dates hand and began to drag her away from the bar. He could hear Raven chuckle behind him as she followed obendienlty. Once he felt that they had put enough space between them and the fish man he stopped and turned to face his now flustered date.

"Jealous much?" her voice had a sarcastic tone, this made him smile and rub the back of his neck.

"Me? No I-I just wanted to make sure that..." He paused looking around for an escape goat. "Argent here" he proceeded  to grab the pale girl as she walked past the couple and spun her to face Raven "had the chance to say hi to you."

"Hmmhmm." Raven crossed her arms and looked at him smugly as Argent began to say her hellos to her.

This how the night progressed, Raven would be confronted by many of their friends and would make light conversations with them until they were satisfied. The whole time Beast Boy would be no more than a few feet away from his date, not because she couldn't handle herself, but because he felt he needed to stay close to her. After what felt like forever, they finally made their way to a couch in the corner of the common room alone. Raven plopped down and let out a large sigh.

"Not enjoying the party Rae?" Beast Boy asked sarcastically as he sat next to her. She shot him an annoyed look but that soon turned into a smile.

"This is just exhausting to me. I'm not exactly great at parties, they aren't my thing." She responded kindly.

He laughed as he grabbed her hand and kissed it fondly, this made her face turn a light pink. "For what it's worth, I think you are doing great." He then looked at the people on the dace floor and was reminded of the other half of her dare that she has yet to complete. A devious smile crossed his face as he looked at her.

"What?" She asked noticing his grin.

"You still owe me a dance."

Raven's face became hot with the realization that he was right. She dreaded this part of the date, she was not coordinated enough to dace well. "Oh come on Gar, I went on the date. Isn't that good enough." she pleaded with him but knew that it was pointless.

"Nope, a dare is a dare Rae." He replied as he pulled her up off the couch and began to make his way to the center of the dace floor. She could feel eyes on her as she passed other Titans, she felt her stomach flip as nervousness spread across her body.

The song that was currently playing slowed to a stop. Then was replaced by Speedy's voice, until now she was unaware that he was acting as DJ tonight. "This one is for all of you animals on the floor tonight. Let's live it up!" The new song started at a steady pace, as the lirics played she realized that she knew this song.

Raven felt her body stiffen as he began to sway to the music. She definitely didn't expect such a fast song for their dance.

Beast Boy must have noticed her stiffness because he pulled her close and whispered the lyrics into her ear. This simple action made her feel week at the knees, his voice was so smooth.

Raven began to feel the music flow freely through her body. She began to sway along with the beat as Beast Boy matched her perfectly. She couldn't help but notice how close he was to her, she could feel his breath on her ear as he continued to sing along with the song. Her heart began to race as if to match the song that played in her ears.

If anyone was actually paying attention to them they may have thought that her and Beast Boy had lost their mind. They were extremely close and were dancing very provocatively with each other, which was a surprise even to herself. However in that moment in time Raven couldn't care any less. In her mind there was no one else but him, nothing else mattered but his touch. She was completely in his trance.

Beast Boy proceeded to spin her around and brought his body behind hers. She gasped as he pulled her hips to him so that their body were right up against each other. He leaned his head next to her ear and continued to whisper the song to her. She could feel the goose bumps rise on the back of her neck, although overwhelmed she continued to dance to the music. She couldn't stop herself, there was just something so very intoxicating about him.

At that moment everyone around them howled with the music, Raven then looked up at Beast Boy who was still against her back and near her ear. His green eyes seemed to be have no end as he stared back at her. She was so wrapped up in him that she couldn't help herself, she then leaned into him and kissed him, his warmth felt good on her lips. After deciding she needed more, she turned around and and deepened their kiss. He reacted as he pulled her close and tangled his fingers in her hair. It was like something sparked inside of her. She pulled away and smiled at him.

She stood on the tops of her toes to reach his ear as she whispered "Follow me." Then she grabbed arm and lead him through the crowd. She felt a bolt of confidence as she picked up her pace, he obeyed and allowed her to drag him away from the dance floor.  

He chuckled "Where are you taking me?"

"It's a surprise." Raven continued to pull him though the body of people. The music played in the background, it was as if the band was singing about them, about her.
