There was a light touch against the empath's shoulder, with a grunt and a few curse words she pushed the hand away from her. A low, animistic whine came from behind her causing her to cringe, she hated when he did that. After a long over exasperated sigh she rolled over and managed to flutter her eyelids opened, she was instantly met with a pair of beautiful green irises. His face instantly grew the toothy grin that she had grown to know so well.

"What time is it?" she asked in a raspy voice. The make shift bed was small, keeping her close to her male companion. The rough and lumpy cot hurt her back and kept her in a constant sleep deprived state, not could be the same for her husband.

"I don't know." he whispered gently, "Maybe an hour before sunrise." He felt her heat as it warmed his face ever so slightly. A warmth began to spread through his chest as she moved so that she as laying on her back. Her lavender sent flooded his nose and he allowed himself to take in a deep inhale.

"Wake me up at sunrise." she whispered in attempt to gain an extra hour of sleep. Unfortunately another low whine erupted through their bed and she felt his hands wrap around her waist, pulling her close to his chest. "Garfield." she warned sternly, she was in no mood for his antics. Not only was it too early, but her mood was always harsh before the rise of the sun.

"But-but Raven..." he whimpered softly. His lips found the crevices of her neck and he began to kiss and suck sweetly along her soft, silk like skin. A moan managed to escape her lips forcing another smile on his lips. "We haven't partaken in martial bliss in so long." his voice had changed from pathetic to seductive in an instant, his voice managed to escape through each contact with her skin. "I thought maybe we could work on making a baby again." His butterfly kisses began to trail to her jaw line earning her a low, sensual moan.

Raven rolled her eyes and placed her palms against his chest pushing lightly against him. All this caused her was his strong grasp on her wrist as he forced them above her head. Ever so slowly he made his way on top of her, pressing his pelvis against hers just the way he knew she liked.

"Come on babe. I miss this, and I know you do too." his seduction was all he had going for him. His brain knew that she could smash him like a bug if she wanted to, but the sound coming from her hitched breaths told him that she wasn't going to do that. No, she was going to do the exact opposite if he kept his scheme up.

"We agreed that we weren't going to get pregnant till we were back in the states." she whispered sternly. Her heart beat was now erratic and she could feel his body shiver with anticipation.

"Fine." he growled, "Then this will be purely for recreational reasons." His commanding voice forced boomed in her ears causing her arms to erupt in goosebumps. Deep down she knew that he had complete control over her, and she was sure he was aware of this too as he leaned in and connected their lips once again.

Electricity flowed freely between them as their lips danced with each other. Low moans of pleasure escaped both of them as the intensity grew. Raven could feel how turned on her husband was by the way he pressed himself against her with such force, it had been a long time since they laid as man and wife, and she knew that it wasn't from choice. There was just not enough time, never enough time. She missed their days in Peru, just the two of them alone in the wilderness. No responsibility, no worries but each other. She couldn't wait for those days again, just the two of them, together with nothing standing in their way.

The empath soon picked up the presence of a guest just out side of their small make shift room. The soft kind feel that she felt allowed her to know who it was without seeing them. It was like running you're hand on silk, soft and smooth. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head as his kisses moved to her neck once again. "Garfield." she whispered softly. "Garfield, Mosi is outside. He's waiting for you."

A loud annoyed groan left Beast Boy's mouth as he turned his head and yelled, "What?" Harsh, he knew, but he had told them a million times not to bother him until sunrise. That any time before then was time to be spent with his neglected wife.

"I am sorry Garfield." A thick African accent replied through the tent door, "We are just starting patrol and are in the need of you're assistance."

Another animal like sound erupted through the room, this time more of a growl than a whine. With a large oof he rolled over onto his back once again, and stared at the ceiling while he rubbed his face in frustration. He wanted to tell them to screw off and to shove it where the sun don't shine but knew that that wasn't an option for him. He knew that his presence was key to the people outside right now, and there was no way he could let them down. As if feeling his uneasiness, his wife soon yelled, "He will be right out Mosi, give us a minute."

There was an accumulation of thank yous, and sorry on the other end of the tent followed by footsteps leading away from where they were. Beast Boy sat up in the small cot and looked over to the beautiful maiden before him, he planted a sweet kiss atop of her forehead before turning away. "Damn, so close." he whispered with a small smile as he threw his feet over the side making contact with the grovel floor.

"I bet you say that to all the ladies." Raven mused as she watched her husband put on his cargo pants.

He began to laugh and reach for his black wife beater at the same time. "I've always told you, chicks dig the ears Rae." The woman in the bed rolled her eyes at his almost catch phrase. He let out a devious chuckle and grabbed his boots, with a quiet thump he sat on top of the bed and began to pull on his socks.

A disgusted scoff left her mouth as she stood from their cot. Her feet met the floor and she felt a shiver run up her spine at the morning chill, she knew that the day would only hold heat but she loved the way the morning held a chilly breeze for her. After walking over to their shared bag she pulled out a pair of her khaki shorts and a light blue tank top. Slowly she changed out of her sleeping clothes and into her daily attire, all the while feeling a wandering gaze on her skin. "You know staring will get you no where." she muttered as she grabbed her own boots and turned towards her husband.

"I know, but I'm just imagining what I'm going to do to you tonight." he said with a boat of confidence. She only rolled her eyes as response and sat on the bed beside him. "Oh what you don't believe me?" he mused putting his arms around her shoulders.

"You say that every night Gar." she replied smoothly, brushing his arm off so she could put on her shoes. "But the patrol and the newbies have you exhausted. I'd rather have you get a good nights sleep than make a mistake out there. Mistakes lead to injury, and I can't be out there with you, so you have to be careful."

Beast Boy felt the worry in her voice, his heart sank at the situation that they were in. He had brought her here, and now he felt as if he was neglecting his husbandry duties. As she stood up from the bed he pulled on her arm, spinning her around to face him. Without a word said he pulled her hips to him, forcing her to straddle his lap. Her lips let out a satisfied sigh as she settled on top of him. "Hey." he whispered as he ran his hands down her back. "Hey this isn't permanent babe, you know that right?"

"I know." she whispered sheepishly.

His head shook side to side at her insecurity. "I know it's hard right now, but it will end. Then I promise we will go wherever you want, do whatever you want. As soon as this is over my love, I'm all yours again."

Raven smiled sweetly as she ran her fingers though his green hair, a low purr erupted though his chest before she leaned down and kissed his perfect lips. A moment passed as she pulled away, "If you need me today, I will be in the infirmary."

"Again?" he asked a little surprised. "You've been there all week."

"I know, but with the Red Cross leaving, they need all the help they can get." she replied as she attempted to climb from his lap, but she met resistance was his arms wrapped around his waist immobilizing her. "Garfield." she whined as she pulled against him.

"Raven." he taunted. A new smile crossed his face and she couldn't help but match it completely. "I love you."

"I love you too Gar, I-" she was cut of by the sound of their tent door opening. Raven let out a sigh as the reconcilable presence filled his empathetic ability.

"Please. We are leaving now." Mosi said in a low tone, obviously embarrassed by the situation he had walked into. "I do apologize."

"Okay, give me a second." Beast Boy said as Raven climbed out of his lap, the African man nodded his head as he turned heel to leave. The changeling stood and turned to his wife one last time as their lips made contact in a sweet kiss. "I do love you." he whispered as he pulled away.

"Love you too. Be safe." she whispered in response, with one last nod she watched as he husband walked out into the morning air. Raven was instantly hit with a sense of uncomfortably, her stomach tossed and turned as she grabbed her backpack and made her way out of the tent, pulling her long purple hair back in the process. Although still dark, the heat had already begun to set in causing a steady flow of sweat to fall from her brow.

The African Savannah was bare, with only a few trees in the distance. Animals adverted the camp due to the many humans that resided inside. Although small and mainly consisting children, woman, and elderly, there were still a small group of militia stationed here. The same one of which, Garfield lead. As she made her way towards the tent with a large red cross on top of it she wondered why the eerie feeling stayed with her for so long.

It had been six moths since they had received the distress call from Garfield's old tribe. They had called out for help due to the ongoing attacks on their people from the neighbor tribe. Although small, they had kept up a strong fight but soon found themselves in a downward spiral. It was a genocide, a mass genocide and not one thing was being done. The terrible leader across the river named, Adisa threatened to wipe them out like it was nothing. Adisa was crazy man who had terrible plans for the small tribes land, just like any psychotic leader, he was focused on one goal, to be the beast there ever was. Once they had made it to the African Safari, Garfield had her had made an attempt to talk terms and end his civil war peacefully, but to no avail. After a few choice wards at their expense, Garfield vowed to take the man down. He vowed to be the one to end his reign, and if necessary the one to end his life. Raven had never seen him so mad. So determined, and it scared her.

The medical bay was empty for once and she let out a small smile as the young British doctor by the name of Sarah nodded her way. Her light red hair complemented her pale complexion, and her brains rivaled that of anyone in her way. She was the only one who had stayed from the Red Crosses visit, and she only stayed for the steamy affair that she was having with Gar's right hand man,  not that the goth cared. The more help the better. "Raven!" she exclaimed with excitement. "Good, they are bringing in a solider from last nights patrol."

Raven's heart sank, "Did it go that bad?"

She only nodded her head as the sounds of men neared the tent. The empath's heart raced at the realization of how bad it truly was. The solider was immediately brought to a white cot in the corner of the room where he clutched his bleeding chest. "Sarah, what happened?"

Sarah spoke to the men in the tribe in their native language, soon the tallest man replied quickly and urgently. Raven's gaze never left the injured man in front of her, she watched as his face twisted in pain while silent tears fell from his eyes. Her heart tied into a knot as she imagined the man being her husband. She felt sick to her stomach as the realization hit her in full, this could be him someday and it very well may be.

"They said that he was hit by a scout across the river. Bullet went right through him, a complete though and through." The empath nodded her head as she took in the information.

"Good, no bullet to worry about." she turned to the young doctor and instructed, "Explain that I'm going to heel him. Tell them not to be scared, that I'm not hurting him." Sarah nodded as she turned to the group and began to speak frantically. Raven ignored them as her hands began to glow blue, there was an accumulation's of cries and protests from the men that was immediately rivaled by Sarah's explanations. Without another thought she touched the mans chest and allowed her powers to take in affect and save the mans life.

The man let out a sigh of relief as the pain was taken away from his body, his muscles relaxed slowly and the hole closed up completely. The men in the room were silent, most likely from sock or awe, she couldn't tell. Not that she wanted to know, she had an idea of what the people here called her and it wasn't good.

Calmness eased in to the room as the man in the cot's eye lids fought against sleep, it was apparent that the energy was drained from him due to the stress his body had admitted. Raven noticed this as she placed a soft hand on his head and whispered, "Rest." The man nodded his head firmly, obviously understanding her English.

As she pulled away her hand from his head she felt resistance as he pulled her palm to his lips and kissed it gently. "Malaika." he whispered just before letting go and letting out an exasperated sigh. Slowly the man lost the battle and lost all sense of self as he lost consciousness.

Confusion ceased into Raven as she turned to Sarah and shot her a confused look, the British doctor smiled as she explained. "He called you an angel." The goths heart skipped a beat at the the word that she had never heard used her way. She let out a small smile before whispering,

"Well that was a first."

*****

Sometime passed passed and the flow of patience in the medical bay died down. Raven soon found her self alone with the doctor as she helped her clean some blood stained cots. The silence was nice, it wasn't what she was used to but she loved it none the less. Eventually the young red hair woman decided to speak up, "You and you're husband are doing good here, you know?"

Raven smiled politely but refused to make eye contact, "Thanks."

"All the men here have the utmost respect for Garfield. They say he is a great warrior, and without him this camp would have fallen a long time ago." The piece of information didn't comfort her like it was suppose to do, in fact it did the opposite. She felt as if her chest tightened in on her and breathing became hard.

They weren't suppose to love him, he was only suppose to help not lead. Although a good leader, it was not apart of their plan. Her feelings for the situation were mixed, she was more than happy to help her husband out any way she could but she also feared for the unknown. So many things could go wrong during war, people die. She knew there was no way she could live without her green love.

"Hopefully all of this craziness will end soon, then we can go home." she whispered as a resonance. "Where ever that is."

"Most people here call you the savior." Sarah's quiet confession took the empath by surprise causing her to raise an eyebrow in her direction.

"Why?"

"Why?" the red haired doctor repeated cautiously, "You save lives here Raven, you help out more than anyone. They love you here, the people love you." the goth's heart leapt into her throat. She wasn't used to this type of attention, she wasn't used to people actually liking her. It was so weird, and almost unbearable.

Raven knew that Sarah could tell that was something was off with the goth, but she knew that she wouldn't press the subject. She never did. Silently the two went about their business, each attending to the necessary needs of the medical tent.

That was when Raven froze. She was instantly hit with a rush of emotions similar to the ones that she had felt in the past, the only difference was the person on the other end was almost a stranger. Almost. A sense of adrenaline and confusion flooded her empathetic senses and she could feel the uneasiness of him.

"Uh Sarah?" the goth managed to choke. The doctor looked up from what she was doing and answered with a soft, hmm? "Can you go get my husband?"

"Garfield? Why what's wrong?"

Raven felt her heart drop at the question. Was there something wrong? Yes. Yes, something had to be wrong for this person to show up. Something had to be very wrong. "Just tell him we have a guest and I need him now."

Sarah opened her mouth to respond but closed it almost immediately once she noticed the stern look from her companion. She soon left the tent and an eerie silence engulfed the young woman as she placed the pile of clean sheets on top of the bed she was near. With one final deep breath she said, "Okay, what are you doing here Richard?"

There was a low chuckle from behind the tent and light shined though as the raven haired man walked through the entrance. His dark blue shorts complemented his red tank top in a way that looked like an uniform on him. Her breath hitched in her throat as he strides into the tent like he had done it a million times, like the last time she had seen him wasn't while he was ending her adoring friendship.

"Hey there Raven, long time no see."
Alrighty!!! Beast Boy and Raven are back baby! Whoop whoop. If you can't tell I love them so much, they are my otp and writing about them is truly something I enjoy. :excited: Excited Excited Can we go NAO :eagerpee:

So they are in Africa, fighting against an army. Strange huh, that they would end up in a place like that. I just thought it was something different, and strange. I was going to put them in some peaceful place, like Hawaii or France, but I though...ehhh na. I also was going to turn these next few chapters into their own story, but they fit in to this story line better. Trust me, a lot is going to happen in the next three chapters so be ready!!

As for the length of the story as a whole, I have yet to settle on how long it should be. I don't want it to be so long that it looses interest after the tenth chapter, but I don't want to keep it short and miss out. What do you think? Long or short? How long is too long? Fight or Flight was 22 chapters, is that too much? These are the things that keep me up at night. :mirror: :drained:
